The host of Ridge FM 104.9 radio program dubbed Love on Ridge at the Tamale Technical University Mr Godwin A. Apullah (aka DJ Ambassador) was on Saturday 30th of November 2019, adjudged the winner of Gender and Family Program of the year at the second edition of the Hyperlink Media Awards 2019 held in Sunyani.

The award ceremony which took place at the plush Eusbett International Conference Center, (EICC) saw Mr Apullah beating four other shortlisted contestants with over 1000 votes in that category.

He went home with a plaque, certificate, and medal and also a certificate of recognition as a Media Star in Ghana.

Speaking to Wesaygh.com an Online News Portal, Mr Apullah said his victory is an indication that people listen to and enjoy his programs adding that the program has impacted positively in the lives of many young people who want to go into healthy relationships. He said he will continue to educate, inform and entertain his listeners about how they should take good care of their partners. 

The Chief Executive Officer of the Hyperlink Media, Mr Arnold Mashud, in his opening remarks stated that the award scheme is one of the credible awards schemes in Ghana which gives the opportunity to all media practitioners in the country and recognize their effort for championing the voice of voiceless in the society including their developmental challenges. He said the award scheme is very transparent because at the end of the day people get to know how much votes they had.

It would surprise you to know that because of this award, we visited the 16 regions of this country. The awards are not meant for only those working in the big towns. You can be in a remote area but your work would be recognized, he said.
